Equation One:
Set big goals
+
Hard work
+
Extreme motivation
+
Relentless commitment to continue

Equation Two:
Reduce obtrusive noise
minus
Stubborn resistance
minus
Habitual comparison to others
minus
Relentless negativity
minus
Traveling on a path set in motion by someone else

The first equation, or a similar form of it, is consistently sold to us as the formula for success. It is also commonly packaged to induce fear, making us feel less secure about what we have and who we are.

The second equation simply peels back the unimportant to reveal space and capacity for deeper reflection and truth.

Is it possible that our best work, biggest jumps, and the start of great pursuits are the remainder of subtraction rather than a product of addition?

With gratitude,

-Joe
