Non-stop noise.
Continuous hustle.
Endless states of consumption.
Expectations pinned on us by others.

As our path cuts through this overbearing intersection of negative forces which desire one thing — to cling on to us as we grind our way through. Day by day, hypnotic drudgery is prolonged while unwanted life-weight piles on to our journey.

Mood is affected.
Perspective is clouded.
Creativity is suspended.
Confidence is undermined.

As we attempt to outrun these negative forces that thrive on faster and bigger, we simultaneously hope for the arrival of an antidote that offers an offsetting solution, like the Giant Life Reset. Counter the big problem with a bigger solution.

The bigger the offset we attempt to install — like the larger house or the grander vacation — the deeper our life weight digs in to our pursuit of trying to do a little better.

In this race to the bottom, the big solution merely empowers the big problem.

Giant Life Resets are rarely practical and unlikely to succeed. It feels great to write out bold mission statements and audacious goals, but most daily routines and mindsets reject huge and encompassing amounts of change fed to us in a single serving.

Of course, in our plugged-in world of non-stop noise, we only seem to hear about the infrequent Giant Life Reset success story, which is presented to us like the introduction to the holder of a winning Powerball ticket.

Why not reduce the start to something much smaller, actionable, and free?

Value Clear Space: The removal of a junky time and/or space occupier — in any area of life — empowers the senses.

Solitude: A single moment of unprompted aloneness fosters awareness, humility, and patience.

Movement Outside: Unplugged and unmeasured intentional activity outdoors brings clarity to the messages we were meant to consume.

These three simple and time-respecting daily exercises can be enacted separately or creatively, together as one. Over time, we experience:

Reduced speed.

Space for simplicity.

A recognition that No Giant Life Reset is ever really needed.

With gratitude,

-Joe
