Instead Of A Bow
Some of you may have had a week where you wrapped up an important project, put your work out into the world for review, only to have it returned to you with a simple message:
“This can be better.”
Whether a project or an essential pursuit, to improve requires a consistent effort.
As we invest, we search for a good feeling on which to end each day. To neatly wrap up our daily work with a bow. We hope to return ready to unwrap and resume again tomorrow.
It’s as if anything left incomplete becomes dreaded weight. Missing this mark can feel exhausting.
Does it have to feel this way?
Perhaps there is another perspective with which to view this part of the process.
More important than a convenient resolution is progress.
Embrace what remains unresolved. Use this energy to wake up and build upon yesterday’s effort.
Our pursuits simply desire a consistent commitment to get better.
No bow necessary.
With gratitude,
-Joe
